Striker Yahaya Mohammed has revealed the reason why he was left out of Aduana Stars' squad for the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League against Libyan side Al Tahaddy.
After coach Yusif Abubakar excluded the bulky forward from his squad for the upcoming game, reports went viral that Mohammed was left out because of poor form.
But according to Mohamed he failed to make the squad because he hasn’t had enough training with the team after his move.
“I couldn’t join the team early for preseason because I had to attend to some nagging family issues. When I did joined later, I picked an injury and was compelled to to play in G8 against Kotoko.” Mohammed told Oyerepa FM
“My absence from the team has nothing to do with my form but rather injury. No coach in the world can overlook a fit Yahaya Mohammed.
