Chief Executive Officer of Techiman Eleven Wonders, Takyi Arhin popularly known as “Thunder” has questioned the rationale behind government’s decision to halt football activities but not close down markets in the wake of the Coronavirus.
The vociferous football administrator argues that market places are usually choked with human traffic and is nearly impossible to observe social distancing yet they are allowed to operate.
“Why are the markets still operating as normal?” he quizzed.
“Social distancing is a major problem there but nobody is talking about that”
The Ghana Premier League has been suspended since March 15 following the directives given by the President of the Republic.
Many club owners have also lamented on the serious financial crisis they face due to impact of the Coronavirus-enforced hiatus.
Meanwhile, the Ghana football association is still engaging with all the major stakeholders to decide the way forward.
