Ghanaian legend Asamoah Gyan has stated that he would be delighted to become the head coach of Asante Kotoko.

He mentioned that although he is willing, he might not fulfill his desire because he is not into coaching.

In an interview with UTV, when asked about managing the Reds in the future, he responded saying, "Why not?"

He further explained why he cannot hold the position at the moment despite his willingness.

"I will gladly accept Kotoko’s coaching job if I get into coaching."

Asamoah Gyan has never hidden his admiration for Kotoko, admitting in a previous interview that it is his favorite club.

He was close to joining Kotoko at the twilight of his career, but the deal could not materialize.

He eventually signed for Legon Cities.

Gyan holds a UEFA B coaching license and has expressed interest in pursuing a career in coaching soon.
