Wienco gives to Bid Committee

Accra, June 17, GNA - Wienco Ghana Limited, dealers in fertiliser and agrochemicals has donated 25 million cedis to support Ghana's bid for hosting of the 2008 Nations cup Soccer tournament.

The donation, which, has been described by the company as an exploratory support makes them the first company in Ghana to donate towards preparations of the committee in their quest to win the hosting right.

Mr H.J.M. Wientjes, Managing Director of Wienco who announced the donation said the company will extend further support to the Committee after they have won the hosting right.

He said the Wienco will on Ghana's success in the bid, sit with the members of the committee to plan on a successful hosting of the tournament.

Mr Wientjes praised the Committee for the magnificent work it has done so far towards the bid campaign and hoped their efforts would not be in vain.

Mr Kofi Amoah, Chairman of the 17-man Bid Committee received the items on behalf of the Committee and thanked them for their support. The Chairman pledged that the Committee will put in the necessary commitment in order to win the bid.

Wienco is also the exclusive commercial sponsors of real Tamale United Sporting Club, a National Premier league side.
