Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew is highly anticipating the result of the BBC African Footballer of the Year award 2015 which will be to revealed this evening.

The British global broadcaster will announce the winner on Friday after three weeks of public voting across the globe.

The winner will be chosen from a five-man shortlist with the Ghanaian highly fancied thanks to his performances for both club and country this year.

Ayew will be competing with Algeria’s Yacine Brahimi, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon, Senegal’s Sadio Mane and Yaya Toure of Ivory Coast.

“The winner, who is voted for by African football fans, will be announced during a special live broadcast on both BBC World News and BBC World Service between 3.30pm (5.30pm SA time) and 4 pm ((6 pm SA time) GMT,” read a statement on the BBC website.

The shortlist for the award was drawn up by journalists from across the continent of Africa.

Three of this year’s nominees are seeking their second award from the BBC after Ayew won in 2011, Toure in 2013 and Brahimi last year.
