Wise F/C elects national executives

Sekondi Eleven Wise F/C has elected national executives to steer the affairs of the Club’s National Supporters Association (WEBS) for the next two years, 2010-2012. The elections were part of the annual Congress held at the Takoradi Polytechnic auditorium on Saturday 18th September, 2010 under the patronage of Nana Kobina Nketsia V, the Omanhen of Essikado Traditional Area and the Life Patron of Sekondi Eleven Wise F/C.

The Congress, which was chaired by Nana Tsetse Apoi, Acting Omanhen of Sekondi Traditional Area had the theme ‘Strengthening The Foundation: Sekondi Eleven Wise F/C Next 90 Years’.

The event saw the election of Jonas Amakye as the Chairman and Kojo Darko as the Vice-Chairman of the Club’s National Supporter Association (WEBS). Other Executives elected included David Quanoo as Secretary and Charles Tawiah as Treasurer. Other officers who contested unopposed included Kamal Ibrahim as Assistant Secretary, Paul Baidoo as Financial Secretary and Old Man Muhammed as Assistant Organiser while Messrs. Papa Daniels, Nana Ngyiresia and J.K. Tandoh were elected as Executives Members.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony which preceded the elections, the Life Patron of the Club, Nana Kobina Nketsia praised the Chairman and members of the Congress Planning Committee for the hard work that culminated in the Congress and urged delegates to make decisions that would benefit the Club and not individuals since no individual is bigger than the Club.

The Opening Ceremony also saw the mentioning for recognition of some loyal supporters, past footballers and administrators, both living and deceased, who have contributed in diverse ways towards the development of the Club from its inception till now, and would be hosted and awarded during a special luncheon to be organised by the Life Patron at a later date.

The Chairman of the Congress Planning Committee, Alhaji Ali Raji on his part intimated that the event was a landmark in the history of the Club in terms of organisation, attendance and public interest, and congratulated Mr. Magnus Rex Danquah, the Convenor of the Congress and Spokesman for Omanhen on Football Matters for his professionalism, exemplary leadership and support towards the planning and organization of the Congress.

Mr. Danquah advised that the elected executives be forthright and professional in their dealings and should make decisions devoid of emotions and personal interests to drive the agenda of the Club.

The Congress also launched ‘Operation Return Eleven Wise To Premiership 2011/2012’, an agenda to return the Club back to the Premier League next season 2011/2012.
