Wise Fighters draw 2-2 with Hearts

Sekondi, May 30, GNA - Wise Fighters, a First Division football team on Sunday held Premier league side, Accra Hearts of Oak to a 2-2 drawn game in a friendly match at the Sekondi Gyandu Park.

The match was played in honour of the late Isaac Ansah alias Salifu Ansah, goalkeeper's trainer of Hearts who was also once the keeper for Hasaacas and Eleven Wise.

Hearts who fielded seven of its regular players, came under attack soon after kick-off and managed to disorganise the defence of the visitors that paved the way for Salihu Issah to score the opening goal for Fighters.

Hearts after several unsuccessful attempts to get the equaliser finally hit target in the 42nd minute to end the first half ended. In the 47th minute, Fighters were awarded a penalty following an infringement in their goal area and Francis Gyepi expertly delivered the kick beyond the reach of Hearts goalie, Laud Quartey. In the 77th minute, Hearts got the much-needed equaliser with a beautiful free kick taken by Johnny Bleedy. The late Ansah died at the Takoradi Hospital on April 19 this year at the age of 45 years.
