Newly elected president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku has assured Ghanaians of his commitment to reviving women’s football in Ghana.

Speaking to Nuong Faalong on TV3’s Hot Issues, he said: “There is a need for us to give the women’s game more attention…we want to support the ladies’ game with the provision of basic logistical support.’’

He explained that his administration will set up a central fund which will provide the game with more resources that will enhance women’s football.

He also intends to use FIFA funds to promote women’s game.

He reiterated his promise to ensure that the women get what they deserve, noting football boots, national health insurance; officiating and registration cards will become free for the female footballers.

This is a feat he says has never been achieved before.

When pressed on equal pay, however, Kurt Okraku failed to give a clear response. Instead, he insisted on fairness and equity.
