A Kumasi-based Sports Journalist is on the verge of facing the Presidential Commission, set to investigate the cause of abysmal performance of the Black Stars at the just ended World Cup in Brazil, for contempt.
According to Lawyer Moses Foh-Amoaning, the name of the said journalist will not be disclosed neither will his media house be disclosed. However, the Commission will listen to the comments he made on radio again and invite him for questioning.
“Simply put, the Commission has officially requested for a copy of the tape and we will decide on what we are going to do”, Moses Fo-Amoaning said.
“What was astonishing was that, the very matters that we have spent time, effort and energy to correct was what one media man, I don’t want to call him a broadcaster, because what I heard indicates that this gentleman was not a broadcaster and I will not mention the name of the station”, Moses added.
"I will give you an example of what he said, it was in Twi and if you will forgive when I speak Twi, he said…".
The said sports journalist is said to have described the members of the Commission as having visited Kumasi and are residing at Golden Tulip Hotel spending the state’s money. He was prompted by someone to co-operate with the Commission and he said he will not co-operate with any Commission.
Before the commencement of the activities of the Commission, a media hearing was organized to educate the media on how to carry on with their reportage and the Commission has indicated how amazed they were when the said media man made those comments even after all the education given.
