Ghana legend Abdul Razak says there is no way Andre Ayew will be crowned the 2015 CAF African Player of the Year at the expense of Yaya Toure.
The Swansea star is one of the three final nominees for the biggest individual award on the African continent which will be handed out at a ceremony on January 7 in Abuja.
Ayew is however facing stiff opposition from Yaya Toure who led Cote d’Ivoire to Nations Cup success earlier this year - beating Ghana in the finals on penalties.
There is also another battle with Gabon star Pierre-Emerick Aubumayang who is on fore at Borussia Dortmund to settle.
And even though many believe Andre Ayew stand a good chance of winning the award due to his impressive start in just his first season in the Premier League with Swansea, former winner of the award, Abdul Razak says he expects Yaya Toure to reign supreme once more again.
“I have won the award before and know how it feels and would wish same for Dede Ayew,” he told Nhyira FM.
‘But the reality remains that Yaya Toure is favourite to win the award because he is still on top of the game.
“All of the nominees are performing well with their clubs and doing same also with their national teams.
“Yaya Toure has won it in the past four years and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
“In so far as he plays football like he does now, I don’t think anyone can overtake him.”
