Zambia President Michael Sata says the Chipolopolo must beat Ghana “at all cost” to honour the memory of former President Levy Mwanawasa.
The African champions host the Black Stars on Saturday in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers at the newly built 45000 capacity stadium named after the former head of state.
And Sata in urging the Chipolopolo says victory is required as a way of saying thank you to the third Republican President.
“I am aware we are playing Ghana at this very structure on June 9th and we must beat Ghana at all costs as a way of saying thank you,” he said.
Defeat to the Black Stars will all but certainly diminish all hopes of a World Cup berth for Zambia following their shock 2-0 loss to Sudan.
Ghana on the other hand are on a high following their 7-0 demolishing of Lesotho in their opening fixture to keep their ambitions of a third successive World Cup qualification well on track.
