Highly respected editor of Kotoko Express, Jerome Otchere has taken on Asempa FM reporter Kwaku Obeng Maestro over some ‘dangerous and pathetic’ allegations he made against players of Asante Kotoko.
Maestro on the Monday’s edition of the Asempa FM Sports Morning show stunned Ghanaians with a bombshell about the use of black magic among players of Kotoko.
According to Maestro, players of Kotoko have taken the competition on the pitch to the spiritual realm.
He attributed the recent injuries to some key players at Kotoko to juju. He alleged that some players have been spraying their training ground with bed feathers and other things.
“Kotoko have quality players but I can say on authority that the players are their own enemies. This used to happen sometime ago but it has started the again. The players are doing juju against each other. The players are working against each other”.
“For example, they brought some young midfielder called Mudasiru. The boy is very good but he get injured after every game. You remember against Hearts of Oak he was playing well until he got injured and stretched off because of the competition in the midfield. Adams Wahab’s leg got swollen like a ball banku a day after their game against Hearts”.
“They brought Sam Adams and he has never been the same since playing against Medeama. Justice Blay has been sick for some time now. Do you know how Kwame Baah got the nod over Felix Annan. The players are causing the downfall of Kotoko with the juju. We should not underrate the juju in their team”.
But Jerome Otchere who was unhappy with the claims against his club took to Twitter to react to Maestro’s assertions.
He berated him for peddling ‘dangerous and wild’ allegations that lack ‘scientific fact.
He called him out and accused him of turning the fans against the players.
Below are Jerome’s tweets
7Maestro’s analysis on Asempa FM on @AsanteKotoko_SC player injuries is dangerous and lacks scientific wisdom. A team being hit by injuries is nothing strange. It’s outrageous to say, the injuries are caused by the players’ involvement in juju 1/3

What’s worse, you provide no proof to back your juju claims yet proceed to make wild allegations against players as to why they have been injured. It’s unfair. If you won’t sympathise with injured players, don’t make unwise assumptions against them 2/3

Again, Maestro, your claim that 10 players are injured as a result of juju is factually sick. You couldn’t complete your so-called list of players on injury. Your kind of commentary is harmful. It’s pathetic as it lacks any scientific wisdom. Some things are easily verifiable 3/3

You open the floodgates for any nonsense to be poured on @AsanteKotoko_SC? It’s cheap, Maestro! Very cheap assumptions. I dare you to put out the names of all the 10 injured players.
