ZAMSE Secondary hold inter form athletics competition

Bolgatanga, March 25, GNA - Zamse Secondary Technical School (ZAMSTECH) in the Bolgatanga Municipality has held its annual inter-form athletics competition.

Form two students took the first position and were presented with a shield followed by Form three while the first years' took the third position to receive the best behaved form trophy.

Closing the ceremony, Mr. Nicholas Nayimbil, Acting Municipal Director of Education, commended the students of ZAMSTECH for being the only well-behaved secondary school in the Municipality and urged them to maintain it.

Mr. Nayimbil called on the Board of Governors and Parent Teacher Association of the school to initiate development projects for the school. He said as the Secretary to the District Education Oversight Committee (DEOC) and Presiding Member of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly, he would negotiate for support to rehabilitate the dilapidated classroom blocks to create a conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.

He told the students that those reading technical and vocational subjects in the school had brighter chances to enter the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and other Polytechnics and therefore urged them to study hard.

He bemoaned the lack of maintenance culture in educational institutions in the region and called on the Heads of schools to as a matter of urgency educate students to take good care of school property. 25 Mar. 04
