Zakkour wants Hearts Board dissolved

Former CEO of Accra Hearts of Oak, Harry Zakkour, has called on the Board Chairman of the club Togbe Afede XIV to dissolve the Board.

Harry Zakkour was speaking on Metro TV’s Sports File program on the current challenges confronting the club.

“I think Togbe should sit up and dissolve the current Accra Hearts of Oak Board because he is doing well but he does not have good directorship. He should dissolve the board and get people who want to work for the great team,” Zakkour stated.

He again expressed his readiness to return to the club to support with ideas to move the club to where it belongs if given the opportunity, but quickly added that he would not want to return as a CEO.

“I’m ready to support them with my advice and knowledge anytime I’m needed. I love Hearts. Hearts made me who I am today and I will still love Accra Hearts of Oak. When I’m going to the grave I think Hearts flag should be on top. I take Hearts as my own blood,” he said.

Zakkour said he is always proud and glad when Accra Hearts of Oak wins a match, even though he is no more in the management of the team. Harry Zakkour led Hearts of Oak to win the ABC Premier League title back-to-back for five consecutive seasons and also won both the 2000 Africa Champions League and Super Cup trophies.

He also presided over Hearts' most glorious days in the late 90's and the early 2000's, winning several local and continental trophies for Hearts of Oak including the FA Cup and the CAF Champions League.
