Jordan Ayew returns in 3-4-3 formation: How Ghana could line up against Central African Republic

Ghana are third with 6 points from three games Ghana are third with 6 points from three games

The Black Stars have the opportunity to rise to the top of Group I in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers if they secure a victory over the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium on June 10, 2024.

Morale and confidence are high in the Black Stars camp after a surprising 2-1 victory over the Eagles of Mali in Bamako on June 6, 2024.

Currently in third place with six points, the Black Stars could move ahead of Madagascar and Comoros in the standings if they defeat the Central African Republic and Mali wins or draws against Madagascar in the other Group I match today.

After the victory and a strong second-half performance against Mali, coach Otto Addo is not expected to make significant changes today, with Jordan Ayew likely to start over Ernest Nuamah.

Lawrence Ati-Zigi, who delivered his best performance in a Ghana jersey against Mali, is expected to guard the goal behind a back five consisting of Tariq Lamptey, Mohammed Salisu, Alexander Djiku, Gideon Mensah, and Alidu Seidu.

With Ghana expected to dominate and take the offensive today, this setup could shift to a back three, with Tariq Lamptey and Gideon Mensah serving as wing-backs.

Despite struggling in the game against Mali until his assist for Ernest Nuamah's first goal, Salis Samed is expected to start today against the CAR. Alternatively, Otto Addo might opt for Ibrahim Sulemana.

Thomas Partey, who impressively led the team as captain, will continue in his role in the double pivot alongside Salis.

Jordan Ayew's performance against Mali will likely earn him a spot in the starting lineup ahead of Ernest Nuamah, with Antoine Semenyo retaining his position as the striker.

Although Mohammed Kudus was not entirely convincing against Mali, the star player is set to start and hopefully make an impact for Ghana.
