  Everybody including the President of the Republic is apparently happy about an emphatic win yesterday for the simple reason that the Black Stars is a pale shadow of itself nowadays. I watch the match yesterday to see how a change in regime will improve the fortune of the Black Stars in terms of organization and output. This is because the previous NPP regime and the Nana Addo Government are partly to be blamed for the dwindling fortunes of the National Team because massive perversive corruption under Nana Addo Presidency, affected every aspect of the Country's development including sports. Besides the mass theft of millions of the Ghanaian taxpayers money as we saw with the naked robbery and exploitation of the public purse with scandals involving the All African Games and National Sports Authority,
  interference with the management of the Black
  stars and player selection was also a hallmark of
  the previous regime. Gabby Okyere Darko directly influenced the appointment of Chris Hughton which affected the Black Stars in 2 key ways; First, because Chris Hughton may have knowledge in English Football but was totally bereaved of knowledge in African football and culture. His
  appointment also broke continuity. I believe that
  even if a Coach is not good enough continuity of a certain footballing philosophy based on
  knowledge and experience with the playing body can still built, allow players to gel into a solid
  winsome team. Personally, I don't think Otoo Addo
  himself is good enough as an astute tactician but the fallout with his appointment is that his
  knowledge and experience of players in continuing
  with a project familiar to the Stars may help the
  tean progressively develop into a solid and
  formidable team depending on how long they play together under him. The truth however is that Chad is one of the weakest if not the weakest in the CAF
  region judging by current statistics and standards
  of play as observed yesterday. The match was
  more of a training session for the Black stars
  because the Chadians played elementary football
  and never posed as a real threat to the Stars who
  look lethargic and inefficient despite registering 5 goals to nil. An away match to Madagascar in Morocco who maybe a relatively formidable
  opponent will be a better test in all earnesty
  irrespective of the fact that the obviously
  deplorable state of our pitch due to mismanagement and plundering of funds by NSA under the erstwhile Nana Addo Government affected the quality of play. I watch highlights of some of the world cup qualifying matches and ample evidence abound no country can be taken for granted in CAF competitions. African football is
  fast developing at an astronomical rate in which the gap between so-called giants like Ghana and minnows is virtually closed and that was evident in the last African Cup of Nations when Ghana was soundly outplayed and knocked out at the group stage by perceived minnows hitherto disregarded in their footballing abilities. Thanks to the incredible work done by the current CAF President Dr. Patrick Mosepe of South Africa and his team.Nevertheless, a lot of work have to be done on the Black Stars to make it competitive at the Mundial itself since the probability of qualifying is high, with Ghana currently sitting at the top of our group. Otherwise, early exit from the group stage is inevitable because we can't make it to the next round with the current form of the team. Hopefully, things will improve because the President of the Republic,John Dramani Mahama is generally a lover of sports. Besides his love for sports like Boxing, he is a football enthusiast himself and have
  his eyes set on the National Team to perform.
