I did not see my own piece until late Tuesday night. Thanks for the Comments. I should have indicated in this article that it was a sequel to my piece published on September 2nd this year with a similar title. I had assumed, rather wrongly, that those who would read this may have see/read the first one. The narrative flows much better if you had the opportunity to read the first one. That, I assume, made those who were this piece on its own found it uninteresting. I take full responsibility for the lack of clarity and the style. I have taken note of the criticisms and I hope to improve upon my message and delivery next time. Thanks again for your comments, be they critical or otherwise.
Go Black Stars !!!

I too am married to a Zambian and I must say that there was a lot of messages between my in-laws and me. Enoch does however miss a very worrying aspect of the Zambian mind-set that the typically Xenophobic reporting in Zambia in the lead up to the match indicates. Zambians have always had a regrettable tendency to blame others for their woes. When I lived in Zambia in the early nineties I was astonished I noticed that whenever a car was stolen it would be reported that the stolen car has been taken to West Africa (forget that West Africa is more than a 2,000 kilometres away and that West African generally drive on the right and Zambians on the left). When the Zambian national team came down in an air accident in 1993 the Gabonese were for years afterwards blamed for the accident. Only recently have Zambians got come to see that everything to do with the accident was of their own making. Can you imagine what would have been said if the Civil Aviation Department had made an exception and allowed Zambians to use an inadequately equipped Kumasi airport and some disaster had struck?
When all those sensational photos were being posted on Facebook about the team being harangued outside the stadium I had to send messages to Zambia asking them whether it would make sense for Arsenal players (my team) to get off their team bus and start limbering up outside Tottenham's White Hart Lane?
I really support GFA's decision to report FAZ to FIFA. It's really about time Zambian's took responsibility for their own decisions.

Mr. Cooke, you remind me of the frequent use of the word "MASENE" used to describe all West Africans. Apparently there is this perception in Zambia, perhaps due to experience with Senegalese nationals involved in precious minerals trade, that all West Africans are crroks. I jokingly remind my in-laws at times that I am Masene when I am trying to make a point that we have "crooks" (bad people) everywhere including Zambia. On the whole, I find my wife's people (Zambians) very friendly and respectful. And I really mean that.
I tried to read this, but I could only manage halfway. I am not marking this article but I strongly believe only friends of the author will read this to the end. Maybe, it's the deceptive titling.
