A serious auto crash on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway has claimed the lives of 14 passengers.
Three vehicles were said to be involved in the accident which happened on Thursday night, May 6.
The Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has confirmed the incident, noting that three people survived with serious injuries.
More than 14 passengers have been burnt to death in a road accident along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Thursday night, May 6, Daily Trust reports.
The online platform said a silver Toyota RAV 4 with registration number, LND 13 GS; a silver Toyota Camry marked, GGE 369 GJ and a Mazda bus with an unidentified number, were involved in the accident.
Legit.ng gathers that a commercial bus allegedly overtook a vehicle and in the process hit another stationed faulty vehicle, Toyota Rav 4, parked in the middle of the road.
The bus was said to have lost control and somersaulted severally before bursting into flames.
Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesman of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), confirmed the accident on Friday morning, May 7, The Punch also reported.
Akinbiyi said 14 passengers were confirmed burnt to death in the tragic incident, adding that three were seriously injured.
He said TRACE operatives and other security agencies rushed two victims to the Lagos State Accident and Emergency Centre and one other to the General Hospital, Gbagada, Lagos.
