DR Congo Football Association boss Constant Omari Selemani has announced he will not seek re-election when his mandate expires.

Omari will not be contesting for the FECOFA presidential seat as the elections are scheduled to take place at the end of the year.

The FIFA Council member has been leading Congolese football since he first joined FECOFA in 2005, before being re-elected in 2009, 2013, and 2017.

In September 2015, Omari was appointed as the chairman of FIFA's Task Force Against Racism and Discrimination.

On 19 July 2019, Omari was nominated to be the first vice president of Confederation of African Football, taking over the portfolio from Amaju Pinnick

FIFA announced on 27 January 2021 that Omari had failed an integrity and eligibility check and was barred from seeking re-election.

This decision means Omari will leave his positions at CAF and at FIFA.
