Egyptian Space Agency Mohamed Elkoosy, and head of the French Space Agency Jean-Yves Le Gal, in the presence of Egypt’s Minister of Scientific Research and Higher Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, have signed a cooperation protocol for satellite developments, training and exploration of outer space.
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stated that the protocol was very important cooperation between Egypt and France in the field of space technology and science and that there was fruitful cooperation in the past in many fields between Egypt and France
According to Dr. Mohamad Elkoosy, the French Space Agency is considered the second most important space agency in the world and the partnership presented an opportunity to gain experiences through the protocol from them.
This is not the first time Egypt is cooperating with France as the French Space Agency has previously offered cooperation with Egypt in the manufacture of a satellite, training, and outer space exploration.
The head of the French Space Agency said that Egypt has leadership in the region, especially after it hosted the African Space Agency and that Egypt is the gateway to enter Africa in this new field in the region. He further indicated that Egypt had earlier launched the Nile Sat in cooperation With France.
He added that he saw a bright future and was looking forward to the visit of the president of the Egyptian Space Agency and his team to France to discuss future cooperation in satellite developments between the two countries.
