Nigerian Afrobeat Singer Tiwa Savage was on the front cover for Allure Magazine for the month of April and in an exclusive interview made some wild revelations about her past and growing up.

According to the "49-99" hit-maker, she bought bleaching creams when she was a teenager but her mother was rather disappointed than angry with the singer when she found the bleaching creams in her room.

“I actually did try to bleach my skin when I was about, I think, 14, 15,” she recalls.

“Even now, on my back I have patches… My mom was cleaning my room and saw the cream that I used to mix with lemons. She wasn’t even angry. It was more her disappointment. So I stopped, but I was always insecure about being dark,” Tiwa Savage told Allure Magazine.

Tiwatope Savage popularly known as Tiwa Savage has been known to be one of the many African female artiste who flaunt their natural hair and ‘chocolate skin’ in her music videos so this comes as a surprise to many fans.
