Kenyans in mandatory quarantine speak out

Kenyans who are in government designated mandatory quarantine sites have described how they are coping with life in isolation

Some, who are housed in government-owned schools and colleges, have told local broadcasters that the crowding and sharing of washrooms and bathrooms is exposing them to the risk of contracting coronavirus.

The government placed all people who had arrived in the country during the last few days before international flights were stopped in mandatory quarantine at their cost.

Kenya's NTV channel shared a video recorded at one school quarantine site in the capital, Nairobi;

Those in private hotels are protesting about the announcement from the ministry of health that some will stay in quarantine for another 14 days for violating guidelines on social distancing.

Over the weekend, the ministry of health said some of those in quarantine were partying as opposed to maintaining social distancing and would remain there for two further weeks.
