Renowned corporate lawyer and business leader, Madam Maata Opare, will be in attendance at the highly anticipated Young African Women Congress (YAWC) 2024 Annual Global Convocation, organizers have confirmed.
Slated for October 27 to 31 in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, the Congress is expected to play host to over 1,500 young women from across Nigeria and the continent as well as from the diaspora, who would receive training, mentoring and coaching from the likes of Madam Opare and other renowned women trailblazers across the continent.
Founder and Executive Chairperson of the YAWC Network, Mr. Daniel Osei Tuffuor, confirming the news, expressed his delight at the development, saying it is “absolutely heartwarming” to have such a personality grace the occasion.
“What she brings to bare at the event are not just her success stories, but also the sacrifices and perseverance to succeed against all odds – a crucial requisite for today’s young African woman. From her success story in the legal profession to her successes in business, Madam Maata Opare is a perfect mentor and resource person for our teeming participants," he intimated.
The Young African Women Congress (YAWC) Network is a fraternity of young women of African descent living in Africa and in the diaspora who seek to be empowered and be themselves, change-makers for leadership and development on the continent.
At the heart of its mandate is the mobilisation of women from the grassroots level for leadership and development through advocacy, training and projects.
This year’s edition is being held under the theme: “Enhancing Women’s Economic Empowerment through Innovation and Technology."
