Cavaye Yeguie Dibril the President of the National Assembly (AN) of Cameroon has appointed Mahamat Abba, Comptroller General of the Quaestors of the AN, to the post of Secretary General (Sg) of the lower house of the Cameroonian parliament.

Retired for many years, Mahamat Abba is the brother-in-law of Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, the president of the National Assembly of Cameroon.

"Article 1: The general controller of the services of the quaestors has the rank and prerogatives of secretary general of the National Assembly.

The rest remains unchanged", can we read in the act of appointment signed by Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, December 10, 2019.

A decision to believe the document was Camer.be copy follows the meeting of the bureau of the national Assembly held on 30 November.

Mahamat Abba, brother-in-law of Cavaye Yeguie Djibril (79, and president of the National Assembly of Cameroon since 1992), has been retired for ten years.

Having long exceeded 55 years, he has so far always resisted in the prestigious staff of senior executives of the administration of the National Assembly, that thanks to the omnipotence of Cavaye Yeguie Djibril whose National Assembly has almost become his property, with thirty members of his family in strategic positions: his sons, daughters, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law.

Mahamat Abba replaces the former Sg of the National Assembly, the main civil administrator, Mbock Désiré Geoffroy, whom Cavaye Yeguie Djibril chased like a messy man on June 19, just a year after taking office. Mbock Désire Geoffroy had replaced Victor Yene Ossomba, of late memory.

Nepotism is doing very well in the National Assembly of Cameroon where curiously, the concept of regional balance has disappeared.
