The Electoral Commission (EC) in Malawi says a fresh presidential election will be held on 2 July.

Last year’s vote was annulled by the constitutional court following widespread irregularities, including what it described as the "massive" use of correction fluid on tally sheets.

It ordered a new poll be held within 150 days. The incumbent Peter Mutharika, who won the original poll, is appealing against the ruling.
