Nigeria: Police beef up security in Lagos over rumoured attack by unknown gunmen

Following reports of possible attacks by gunmen in some states, the police commands have beefed up security in parts of Lagos and Ogun State.

This action comes after the police commissioner, Hakeen Odumosu hinted of a possible attack during a security summit.

According to him, the command was investigating threats by armed groups planning an attack on the city.

In a publication cited in the Punch newspaper, undercover police personnel has been deployed in places with high population and critical infrastructure and institutions in Lagos.

The Police commissioner also hinted that measures are in place to ensure attacks are curtailed.
