Nigerian - Canadian artiste, Falana has revealed that events leading to the production of her songs have impacted her positively and has given her a new perspective on life.

Speaking to Akosua Hanson on Y 97.9 FM’s Y Lounge, the Canadian born singer said:

“My single ‘Joy’ was written two weeks before the world went into lock down. That was crazy! But I have come to accept that in life, no journey is ever straight forward. Just having this conversation right now is somehow therapeutic for me and it is reminding me that life is not smooth sailing.”

She went on by giving explanation to the motivation behind her single ‘Start Again’ stating that, “Start again means as long as you have breath in your lungs, you can start again.

There is no disaster that can come upon you that can actually stop you from taking another step and trying to change your life. Joy is like looking up and counting your blessings and living your life one day at a time”

The latest sensation hitting the music industry shared how her brand new single ‘Joy’ was birthed.

“This song was produced by a Canadian- Jamaican named King Benjamin. When he played this song for me in the studio, I liked it. While in the studio I recorded a completely different song to his production. For some reason, it didn’t save and so I lost that song. In my mind I thought I’d lost the most amazing song ever in my life. Three months later we released ‘Joy’.

You may have a plan in your life but it may not be God’s plan. He will redirect your path. Joy is now a song that is playing everywhere. The reception has been amazing.

In response to question about her genre of music, she explained it is a fusion of afro beat, R&B and Soul.
“It doesn’t really fit in one place. I know it sounds very cliché but I know that when you listen to the songs, you will understand.”
