Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, got his request to appoint 20 advisors for his administration granted by the Senate.

The request was granted because of its urgency, according to the Senate.

The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, in announcing the go-ahead given to Tinubu on the floor of the upper legislative chamber, added that special advisors do not have names and the president needed a team to work with so, there was no need to delay.

“Because there is no name for special advisors, we will just approve it from here. We feel that that this is something of utmost urgency.”

Special advisors are temporary civil servants who advise and can represent the views of government officials on policies through the media.
