Authorities in Uganda announced that they have “seriously launched” a manhunt for a man who allegedly beat a victim to death after he found him having an affair with his mother in a potato garden, the Monitor reported.

In a statement, police spokesperson Enanga Fred said Ochira Siliman instantly killed 54-year-old Ocakacon Ben after he “boxed and hit the victim repeatedly with a stick.” He is said to have abandoned his body in a garden after the attack.

“We strongly condemn such acts of elderly abuse by children,” Enanga said. “The son whose actions were premeditated, kept spying on his mother, and attacked his lover, with a huge stick. He was rife with rage and anger. Efforts are now in place to trace the whereabouts of the suspect and bring him to book.”

The incident, which happened on October 31, is being investigated by the police while the body of the deceased was sent to Kitgum General Hospital for post-mortem before being handed over to the family for burial.

Not too long ago, authorities in Liberia arrested an American missionary on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly tried to slit the throat of his Liberian wife shortly after she announced her pregnancy.

According to the Daily Observer, the suspect, identified as Lucas Richard, is a missionary of the Creekside Church. He was also reportedly married to another woman besides the victim Jessica Lloyd.
