Archbishop of Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Bendel Province, Rt. Rev. Cyril Odutemu, has described as barbaric the attack on churches in some parts of the country.

He noted that these killings of worshippers are crimes against humanity and God.

The Archbishop made this statement on April 26, 2021, in Ughelli, Delta State, at the 8th Synod of the Diocese of Ughelli of the Anglican Communion.

Speaking on the theme; “We are Christ Fragrance Unto God: A Critical Examination of the Christian Life”, the cleric stated that persons responsible for the ongoing attacks on Christian places of worship would pay for their sins against God.

“The church will not carry arms to fight anyone, but God will fight for His church. Unless they come to the church to confess, by the unction of my consecration, they will pay for what they have done. We don’t have guns, but we have prayers and we will prevail,” he said.
