Dancehall diva, AK Songstress on Tuesday, August 21 thrilled fans at the ‘Madina Sallah Jamz’ held in Accra.

The annual event which marked the Eid-ul-Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice featured other artists who entertained patrons of the street carnival.

Song after song, the ‘37’ hitmaker got the crowd on their feet, dancing and moving to the rhythms and tunes from her maiden album “History ”.

Known in real life as Akosua Kwakye, the reggae/dancehall artiste renowned for leaving an indelible mark on music lovers after every performance.

AK Songstress released a nineteen track video album last November, and she performed some of the songs on the album to her fans, who responded positively.

The album which has hit songs like Funky Fresh and Holiday has received impressive reviews from fans and entertainment pundits.
This year’s Eid-ul-Adha, a festival celebrated by the Muslim community in Ghana and millions of Muslims worldwide, was celebrated on Tuesday 21st August.

Aside from the annual prayers at the Independence Square led by the Chief Imam, the day which served as a national holiday, witnessed numerous activities such as jams and street carnivals.

Groups like VVIP are known for hosting an annual jam at Nima dubbed SallaFest. Others like the Sallah Jamz at Madina is also widely patronized by many to relax and make merry.
