All is set for the MUSIGA Congress slated for the Eastern regional capital Koforidua from Thursday, October 29 – 31, 2015.
This follows a meeting between the Union’s Election committee and some of the candidates contesting for MUSIGA’s national elections.
The meeting discussed a number of issues relating to the congress including the delegates list for the elections. After much deliberations, the meeting agreed to proceed with the congress as scheduled for October 29 – 31.
The chairman of the Election committee Ben Brako assured the candidates that the Election Committee is operating in the supreme interest of the Union and not in any individual’s interest. He said the Union had taken steps to ensure that all preparations have been made for a successful congress adding that the appropriate institutions like the Electoral Commission and the Police have all been duly informed.
He also advised the candidates to campaign without acrimony and malice saying the Union is one big family and candidates should bear that in mind no matter how passionately they feel about issues.
Present at the meeting were all three Presidential candidates, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Appiah Dankwa aka Apietus and the incumbent Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour.
Other candidates present included Ras Caleb Appiah Levi who is contesting for the National Organizer position, Deborah Freeman, Rev Dr Thomas Yawson, Benedict Kolan and Bessa Simons who are all standing unopposed.
