Bak Tye In 2000, a hiplife artiste known as Bak Tye began to take form in the hiplife scene. Starting at series of impromptu freestyle sessions at schools and performances at shows like funfairs, funworld and Kiddafest and gradually he's seen as every big show in Ghana.
Bak Tye has been in the music scene for seven and a half years and made it big when he featured on Mzbel's 'Awoso Me' song and is set to come out with his new album next year in February.
After doing some featurings and taking a break for some time he has decided to record a song together with Kwaw Kese tilted 'Wadada Mi' on his upcoming album which is his personal favourite. Now the two emcees have a world of their own and fusing their rapping skills is a bomb. I encourage everyone to get a copy of the CD when it comes out and watch out for that single.
His album titled 'Fa Mi Ko' will be addressing on issues like cheats, spendthrift girls, hatred, peace and societal happenings.
Bak Tye's first album hit song 'Yen Pie' featuring Batman was selected as number 4 on the Ghana Music.Com charts for week 5. After he saw the 'Yen Pie' as a hit and perfect, he added a video clip to it.
He is known much from the track he did with Mzbel. So we asked him how he felt working with Mzbel. "Mzbel called me because she felt everything about me was good. I want people to know that I recorded that track before the 'Yen Pie' album even came out", he answered.
His new album comprises of 10 songs with featurings from hiplife artistes like Kwaw Kese, Pop Skinny, Kofi Nti, and Castro. Agingo (who he started with on his first album and felt the need to record again with him), Jay Q and King Cyrus all helped out in making this album a successful one.
"My next album will be more than the first one, as time goes on we improve, the feeling is greater than the first one - 'Yen Pie'", Bak Tye added. He is now under a record label called Sir George Music Production.
"DJ's don't do their work well I mean when a song is nice they should play it and PAYOLA ain't good. Also Unity should prevail between musicians so as to make us strong and we should have respect for each other", Bak Tye said what he thought about the music industry.
Music fans should maintain the music feeling and keep the fire burning because there are gonna be some fireworks after the album comes out next and keep supporting me, Bak Tye said convincingly.
Bak Tye gave advice to the young fans that they are supposed to do the right thing and strive to be good citizens of Ghana.
