All is set for what promises to be the biggest gospel music show ever staged in the capital. The concert, dubbed 8th Harvest Praise 2006 on Resurrection Sunday, April 16, will be hosted at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
The annual gospel music festival themed ?Celebration of Christ?s Resurrection Through Praise and Worship? is organised by The Harvest International Ministries (HIM).
This year?s Harvest Praise presents another exciting package for gospel music lovers with a line up of the most refreshing and inspiring voices within the gospel music industry.
Taking the centre stage as usual will be the host choir ? Evergreen Harvest Gospel Choir with performances from guest artistes including Gospel Award winner, Nobel Nketia, Dan Nettey, Christiana Love and Nii Okai and the Harbour City Choir.
Also featuring are Harvest talent discovery , Women of Worship, a local female group within the Harvest gospel choir who will be making their debut appearance and Kojo Folson alias Sir Borax renowned for his mastery of almost all musical instruments.
According to Mr Frank Asante, chairman of the planning committee, Harvest Praise 2006 is expected to attract a huge audience of gospel music lovers that cuts across denominations.
?Harvest Praise 2006 would put to test the dexterity of the choir and their ability to adapt to the changing gospel musical trend?.
He said the choir would blend popular local and international music, with unknown but infectious gospel songs to entertain those who would throng conference centre.
Rev Fitzgerald Odonkor, President of HIM said the concept of Harvest Praise is to use gospel music as a vehicle for christians and non-christians to reflect on the spiritual ramifications of Christ?s death, burial and resurrection.
