Black Symbol was established in 1997 with the ambition to entertain people and keep them informed through music. They have since taken over stages in several private functions, dance clubs and cultural events in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and USA. Black Symbol has on several occasions performed on stage with a number of internationally recognized artists such as Afro Moses, Kwadjo Ashakan, Samuel Gyamfi, Camielle (R&B star) and many more. They have hit a large number of audiences, received great compliments and won a number of awards at a few music and rap contests.

Musically, Black Symbol is inspired by some great rappers and singers from Ghana and around the world. They carefully combine the excellent style of traditional Ghanaian music with the style from the western world to form a new type of music popularly known as HipLife in Ghana. But they had to step outside the circle, hence they created a new style of HipLife, which they call "Asaase Kasahare". With this style, a greater emphasis is put on the lyrical part of the music rather than the instrumental part. This initiative was taken to make people enjoy not only the beats but also the inspirational messages installed in our music.

Their songs portray the lives of Africans, especially Ghanaians living inside and outside Ghana. The themes of their songs are constructed around issues of love, family, relationship and life in general, and are performed either in formal or comical way.

Black Symbol are about to hit the shores of Ghana. They'll be releasing their album "Abrabo" (Life) which has 12 banging tracks (as well as some hidden suprises). It features various artists, from traditional Akan singers, English rappers and R&B singers.

Expect to see their "music video film clip" to be released on television very, very soon.
