Ghana’s hottest hip-life duo, Bradez of ‘Simple’ fame, has been widely tipped as favourites for this year’s Ghana Music Awards (GMA).
The two, Nsiah Boamah Kwaku aka Stone (Flow King), and Nsiah Amankwah Kwaku aka Kunta Kinte, are really causing a stir in the country’s music industry and many are looking forward to the day their efforts would be crowned with honors at the GMA.
Kunta Kinte just recovered from what many suspect was a stroke and he has bounced back to the stage with renewed energy.“We know the talent we have and are aware of our capabilities but for now, what you guys have seen is just an introduction to the real deal. Just wait for the main package which is coming soon and then you can really have fun because it is specially made for you to enjoy,” the two disclosed NEWS-ONE.
‘Simple’ is currently topping music chart shows in Liberia and doing equally well in Ghana. In Ghana, Bradez’s tracks have received one of the highest downloads from mobile phone content providers over the past few months.
In December last year, the song received over 20,000 downloads per day for several weeks. Sales of the music were also tremendous according to the producers. Their entry into the music industry was in 2005 when they released the ‘Efirifie’ album. The album had tracks like 1gallon (419) which became an instant hit despite the strong competition at the time.
Bradez seek to use this year’s Ghana Music awards to announce to the world that they have arrived and they are here to stay.According to them, the world has seen nothing yet, and that, they are yet to release their arsenal to show the world what they are capable of.
On their views on hiplife, they had this to say: “Hiplife is very versatile, it's like energy; it changes from one form to the other. I call it the trendiest music in Ghana. In the next 5years, at least 3 hiplife artistes will be known internationally and the Bradez would definitely be part of that three.”
