Cecilia Marfo Rocks Swedru

Popular Gospel musician and highly inspirational singer, Cecilia Marfo, over the weekend thrilled Agona Swedru gospel fans when she staged a brilliant performance at the ‘Voices of Fire’ realty show held at the Catholic Parish Hall.

‘Voices of Fire 2011’ reality show was organized by Rhythms of African Music Foundation (RAMF), a non-governmental organization, with support from certain companies, to unearth talents for the gospel music industry.

The event, which attracted over 3000 music fans, was showed live on Cape Coast-based Coastal Television. Cecilia Marfo, who thrilled music fans with her hit-songs, exhibited her vocal abilities and dancing skills to the extent that music fans wanted more from her.

At one point, the auditorium of the Catholic Parish Hall was transformed into a dance hall, with everyone dancing and singing along to the tunes.nCecilia was the ultimate gospel star on that day. With her style of performance, she guaranteed a place in the hearts of music fans as the best Ghanaian act without a doubt.

The Executive Director of RAMF, George William Dickson, noted that he decided to hunt for talent within Agona Swedru and its environs because talents in that area had not been tapped.

He said he had taken it upon himself to develop musical talent in the youth by grooming them to become stars in the future. At end of the reality show, Mavis Maame Aba Azanu emerged the winner of the reality show, with Solomon Wrekoh Ansah taking the second prize.

The two will visit South Africa to record their albums by kind courtesy of NABOD Film and Music Production, a South African music production company.

Present at the show was the Municipal Chief Executive of Agona West municipal assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Kweku Tetteh and other high profile personalities in the Area.
