Cheat Sheet: Another eShun – Kofi Kinaata controversy

Kofi Kinaata Kofi Kinaata

Two fante singers are currently at a cross-road to rule the singledom as VGMA Highlife artist of the year Kofi Kinaata and Unsung artist of the year nominee eShun stare at each other in what appears to be plagiarism in their latest songs.

Whether by osmosis, coincidence or common ancestry it is clear Kofi Kinaata’s latest ‘Single and Free’ produced by Willisbeats sounds suspiciously similar to eShun’s five week-old “Someone Loves Me”

If there’s any subject that has been tackled from pretty much every angle in music, then it must be Love and at a point when Christmas is just around the corner and heartbreaks are on the rise (lol), it is only strategic that an artist creates music to celebrate living a solo life which features Flowking Stone was released weeks ago as a classical contemporary Highlife piece taunting an ex-lover, then new king of Highlife, Kofi Kinaata also drops a similar groove with a similar subject raising eyebrows and giggles among industry critics.

Kofi Kinaata has long been known and credited for his originality and creativity but maybe for once, Kofi Kinaata has run out of creativity...Or eShun's tune was probably too good to be owned by just one person.
