The Stars of the Future season five music talent hunt competition continues this week with the next performance night scheduled for Friday at the usual venue, the National Theater. Dedicated to gospel music, Friday night will see patrons screaming Hallelujah when the seven contestants mount the stage. Songs to be performed on the Gospel night will be varied; a combination of relatively new songs currently enjoying rotations on radio and classics of the time. Expect to hear performance of songs from Kwaku Gyasi, Cecelia Marfo, Cindy Thompson and several Holy Ghost filled singers.
To support the night’s performances will be the vibrant Patch Bay Band, a force behind the weekly stunning performances produced by the amateur singers anytime they mount the stage. Last week wasn’t any different when the contestants sung songs carefully selected by the judges.
Kaki was phenomenal performing ‘Beautiful Nightmare’ by Boyonce. She had remained consistent in the competition and last night was the same story from the University of Ghana student. Her power to work the crowd was just fantastic as she remained spectacle to watch.
Abby who spotted a beautiful and flowing wine gown, she looked classic and took up the challenge of performing ‘Time after Time’ originally sung by Cyndi Lauper. She made an impressive showing with a song that many established musicians wouldn’t attempt to perform.
Another impressive performer on the night was Daniella. Doing ‘Rude Boy’ by Rihanna on the night, the nineteen year old amateur singer produced a great delivery. Her dance steps seamlessly suited her performance much to the appreciation of the audience.
