Ekwow Mikah still with heights

He is a father of seven strong boys under the sun as he mentioned to this reporter in Accra. The name; Ekwow Mikah; is well known in the Ghanaian music industry and started music at the beginning of creation with his first album in 1990, titled “Ashanti Reggae”, carrying reggae and local songs.


His second album was “nansa yi wo ho aye fe” and that was in 1992, followed by his third release “mesi wo hemaa” in 1993. In no longer a time, he surfaced with his fourth album “odo kasa” which had “nsuohyee-(hot water)”, a very popular track to date. “Ampe 2005”, came also in 1995 as his fifth album followed by his sixth, also bearing the title “95 cedis”.


After these wonderful works, he is out with his seventh album “Liberate Africa”, by the EMS Band, derived from his acronym. He explained that Africans are being influenced by an unpleasant constitution designed by the Holy Alliance, which goes against the rights of Africa.


His inspiration comes from Jah as he said to the paper and declared that his current one is produced by “Nyansa Dua Entertainment– Wisdom Tree”. This album has nine tracks on CD and eight on cassette. He featured the late Joseph Hills also known as Culture and Steel Pulse all from the Caribbean.


The album was recorded and mixed by Sammy Harywyne with tracks including “Aseda ne Nyame”, “Akyiri Ha- behind”, “Secret Seed”, among others. He added that gospel is not all about riding in big cars as God’s grace but by the speaking of the Untold. He writes his own songs to purposely help blacks to emancipate from mental slavery from the imperialist (Whiteman).


Mikah’s big up goes to his distributor, White Stone Music, with Twum as director. He urge all to unite and live up to expectation of the organization of African Unity and shy way from avoiding fellow blacks and loving foreigners.
