Fat Joe, Sean Kingston perform in Ghana

Fat Joe and Sean Kingston, two of America’s crowd-pulling star singers will storm Accra in July for what is expected to be the biggest show in the country this year.

Kingston and Fat Joe will be flying down on the wings of Exclusive Vista Entertainment (XVE) who are organizing a show dubbed, “State of the Republic Concert” as part of activities marking Ghana’s 48th Republic Anniversary.

According to XVE, the concert will come off at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, July 19 and will be spiced up with performances from some of Ghana’s hit makers.

Sean Kingston released the single “Beautiful Girls” in 2007 and instantly became popular in Ghana, especially among college girls, many of whom were “down” with his smooth looks.

Sean Kingston was born on February 3, 1990 in Miami, Florida, but grew up in Kingston, Jamaica, after moving there at the age of six.

Joseph Antonio Cartagena aka Fat Joe is 37. He is of Puerto Rican and Cuban descent, and is signed to Imperial Records.

His hit song, “Lean Back” put his name on the lips of Ghanaian music lovers.

A director and events manager at XVE, Mr Eugene K. Chinebuah said the show will also feature some of Ghana’s tip-top performers, whom he said may get the opportunity to undertake some co-operative musical productions with the visiting American singers.

There will be two after-parties shortly after the July 19 concert.

The Aphrodisiac nightclub and the plush African Regent Hotel will host a general get-together and a VIP session respectively.

“Sean Kingston may come with his mother, Janice Turner, who is interested in doing business in Africa,” Mr Chinebuah hinted.
