God’s instruments return with “Gye W’ayeeyi”

A few years after its formation as the musical wing of the Baptist Students Union (BSU), of KNUST, God’s Instruments has become a vibrant ministering group not only on all tertiary institution campuses but the entire country.

In the year 2003, the group released its maiden album, “Awurade Ei”, which won the hearts of many gospel music lovers.

Owing to the great impact of the first album, the group recently released its second album, “Gye W’ayeyi” (The  Spirit of True worship).

“Gye W’ayeyi” is a ten track album that was put together within a year and contains soul inspiring songs consisting of very powerful worship and praise tracks. The rhythms of songs on the album boast of a mixture of highlife, reggae and adowa.

In an interview with Mr. Elliot Lamptey, the music director of the group, he revealed that, “Gye W’ayeyi” has come to complement the group’s quest to reach out to the world and to minister the word through music.

The album has track such as “M’agyenkwa”, “I will Walk” and  “The Answer Is” all of which are mid-tempo songs that touch on the essence of worship, God’s love and salvation by faith n Jesus.

“Hhyria Ne Din” and “Mesom No” are done beautifully in the highlife vein.

However, the songs that actually expose the group’s level if creativity are “Gye W’ayeyi, “Aseda” and “Awurade Ei” Root Mix II).

The album is produced by God’s instruments, BSU (KNUST) and mixed by Kofi Dua Anto (a former music director of the group) at KODED studios, Takoradi, Challenge and Christian Music Shops all of Accra are responsible for its distribution.
