Gospel music has a brighter future - Dan Bassy

Ace sound engineer, Dan Bassey popularly known as BassyMix of Combine House of Music based in Kumasi has revealed that Ghana gospel music industry has a brighter future.

Bassy who has worked with a number of established gospel musicians in the country including Ernest Opoku jnr, Waseda nie by Ghana Gospel AllStars, Ayeyi nhwom from Kwaku Gyasi, ‘Madamfo pa’ by Selina Boateng, Paa Boateng, ‘Meti Asi menwu’ by Christian love, amongst others.

Speaking to worshipper on work and happiness on A1 Radio, the veteran sound engineer disclosed that he has been in the industry since 2002 and has been consistent even though he was not using his signature tune BasseyMix which has now become a popular tone in most of gospel songs on radio currently.

Dan Bassey has helped many gospel musicians in the country to project their God-given talents across boundaries through music.

According to him, gospel music really has a brighter future considering the number of gifted artistes whose songs are making a lot of impact in the lives of many believers both home and abroad and those yet to come clearly indicates the future is bright.

Touching on the issue of whether gospel artist should demand money before performing for church programmes, the veteran sound engineer asserted that since it’s an investment there is a need for the artiste to charge but on reasonable amount so the organizers can afford in other for them to fulfill their ministerial duties and also reiterated that church authorities also need to avoid giving token.
