As far as keeping hip-pop movement and beats making in Ghana is concerned, he has remained an unconquered soldier.

He has what it takes to hit you hard with his ?phat? drum kicks, he knows how to make you node your head even if you are fast asleep.

Hammer is known in real life as Edward Nana Poku, born on the 27th March 1976 and he just loves doing beats specializing in hip-pop.

He started it all as a hobby from 1997, until 1998 when he met and recorded Obrafour?s first album ?Pae mu ka? with his partner Yaw Opare Anoff.

After a year in the states, Hammer came back to record the albums of Deeba, Jay Dee, KGPM and Obrafour?s second album ?Asem Sebe?.

Unlike other sound engineers Hammer had no training whatsoever, he does not even know how to play a single musical instrument, yet he is able to produce the necessary heavy hip pop vibration.

According to him he plays his beat through very hard means.

Hammer produced Tinny?s ?Makola Kwakwe?, the Execution Dairy which brought to light new cuts like Kwaw Kese, Okra and Hot core; ?Sounds of our time? which featured Bolli of you kiss the bride fame, Agbeko, Last page, Motia and other fresh rappers.

Currently the last two is preparing to release yet another graduation of new foot soldier or 2006 titled ?The Crusade of the Lost Files?.
