Hip-life artist Barosky says he?s considering legal action against Ghana?s reining hip-life king, Ofori-Amponsah, for cheating and breach of contract.
Barosky together with Ofori-Amponsah and Kofi Nti collaborated and successfully produced three hit songs including ?Otoolege?.
But Barosky is now crying foul because he says he received only five million cedis despite the massive success enjoyed by the hip-life songs. According to him, Ofori-Amponsah who was leader of the trio, has also reneged on his promise to help him record his own album.
The embittered Barosky told Joy News he?s not expecting anything less than 250 million cedis from his work with the group and will soon file a suit in court against both Ofori-Amponsah and his manager.
?On three good albums within two years, we had done ?Rakia? and we all did ?Rakia? for Kofi Nti and there are some promises he made to me. After ?Rakia?, I was waiting for those promises but its like it wasn?t coming?.
?The promises he made was he was going to record me after ?Rakia?. So this made me move from ?Apeitus?. I was an assistant engineer to ?Apeitus? and that was when we met and he said he wanted us to do ?Otoolege?, that is his album. So after ?Otoolege?, he was going to do mine, that was last year. After the ?Otoolege?, he was going to another level for our third album which he wanted it to be named as a compilation from the three people which was me, Kofi Nti and himself (Ofori Amponsah)".
"So I was wondering why I don?t have an album and I?m moving with these two people who already have an album. I was confused along the way. As I started asking them if the promises were not coming through, then I think you owe me for the works we?ve done so far because all these works he has never given me any money".
"Yes, I have not been paid but its when I started fighting with them that they gave me 5 million cedis. I think I am supposed to be given 250 million cedis which I have no receipt to show because he signed it?, he said.
