Ghanaian songstress Jane Awindor popularly referred to as Efya might be taking something closer to Gh95,000 for one show and she is of the view that she deserves it.
The daughter of Nana Adwoa Awindor who appeared on popular Youtube entertainment program, Celebrity Ride With Zionfelix justified the need for event organizers to pay her such huge amount to perform at events.
When asked if promoters who have less than the amount cannot book her for shows, she did not give a vivid answer but said: “God has been good”.
She went on to tell Zionfelix, host of the program why she would take around Gh95,000. The “Getaway” and “Best In Me” songstress explained that she mostly performs live when she mounts the stage and that costs a lot. According to her, she mostly performs with eight or nine-piece band and it is not a joke to mount stage with that number.
Efya believes she has grown as an artist so should work in an extraordinary style to reach the legendary status. The alumni of Yaa Asantewaa SHS in Kumasi further stated that she wants to release songs which can last for decades so that generations will listen to it and still feel it is a new song.
Efya on the show was reluctant in mentioning her charges but confirmed that it is not a soupçon of cash.
The first runner-up in Charterhouse’s Stars of The Future television show hosts her last edition of Girl Talk concert on December 27 this year at the National Theater.
