Daniel Ofori-Appiah, popularly known as Officer Kwasi Ofori who is out with his maiden gospel album titled "God's Power ", has debunked controversy lurking around that he is competing musically with his senior colleague DSP Kofi Sarpong now SP Sarpong.
Officer K. Ofori is presently the most popular police officer to release a gospel album.
His "Hwehw3 no " track which was engineered by award winning sound engineer, Nacy, has been airing exceedingly on various radio stations .
He debunked that assertion during an interview with DJ Murphy Lee of Sunyani based Metro FM.
"DSP Kofi Sarpong now SP Sarpong is my senior college whom I take some inspiration from as a gospel musician. I'm not challenging or competing him but we are all singing to the glory of God in accordance with our respective gifts", He told Murphy with much passion
Sharing his thoughts about how he combines his music and police careers, this is what he told DJ Murphy;
"I have been a police man for the past 10yrs and I started singing at the age of 14 but officially, it's less than a year I came into the gospel music scene though it's challenging but by God's grace I’m able to combine the two perfectly”, he noted.
He also revealed that Police Personnel’s are not limited in doing only gospel music but they are entitled to come out with any genre of music.
“The police like every genre of music but the content matters. As we are talking now, there might be someone who is going to seek the opportunity from administration to come out with a reggae song.
We have a singing band which they perform all genre of songs during functions, just that we the police must set a good example for people to emulate since children and the society look up to us", he explained
