A displeased former member of hiplife music duo, 2toff, Richard Oguns, popularly known as Ogunskele says it is not advisable for anyone to be in a music group.
In an interview with Abrantepa on Radio Univers’ Brunch2Lunch, Ogunskele recounted how devastated he was when his cohort, Red Eye told him that they should go their separate ways.
According to Ogunskele who is currently promoting his solo track titled “one puff”, the group had recorded thirty-four tracks to be released, only for Red Eye to call it quit. “He (Red Eye) didn’t give any reason for wanting to go solo. As I’m talking to you, even though we are in good terms, he still hasn’t told me why he decided to leave the group”, he said.
Asked what he thinks might have caused the breakup, Ogunskele said, “It’s good to be in a music group; but I won’t advise anyone to go into one. The reason is, once a member calls it quit, the group is no more. It takes so many sacrifices to keep a music group going. However, when jealousy, ungratefulness and hearsays set in, that marks the beginning of the end of the group. If a group will survive, each member must appreciate the little effort of his fellow member”.
He reiterated that, despite Red Eye’s exit, the group still exists because there are other members abroad including D Blaize. 2toff adds up to D3, Wutah, Praye and a host of other music groups in Ghana that have split over various reasons.
