For an artiste who has been in the music industry for the past eight years, not much has been heard or seen of hiplife artiste Ray Osei Asibey aka Osaray Ogyaserama.
His first album titles Fa Wonsuo Deede Bedwo Makoma, released in 1999 failed to make any impart and since then he seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. But, Osaray says that all the time was spent working intensely on his second album Araba Yaa and not because he had given up.
According to Osaray, he is out to create waves with this album and to put him on the top as he deserves. As if to prove this, Araba Yaa is making headway in Ghana and has entered the charts on some of the radio stations.
The album has thirteen tracks on CD and eight on cassette with a video of Araba Yaa already receiving considerable airplay. The album features a number of known and new artistes Almost every track features at least two of such artiste.
Araba Yaa, opens the album and is in two versions, Twi and Ga. The Twi version features Agya Bomofuo.
With good sound arrangement, chorus and rap, Araba Yaa has traces of a hit making song.
Abanoma features TDB and Johnny Osei and talks about the artiste?s interest in a lady who has a son who he would anything for so he can get closer to the mum, if only the boy will give him the chance. Osaray laments about the boy?s behaviour and says it is hindering his progress with the lady. With a good chorus and funny lyrics, Abanoma is an impressive one by all standards.
Odo Wose Menko blends hiplife with the mainstream hiplife rhythms for a harmonious effect. It is about love turned sour and featues Obour who delivers a great rap and Opam Kokroko.
Other songs are Zinaabu featuring TDB and Johnny Osei, Atodwe featuring Don King Soso, San Beware Me Chancellor, Ogyaserama and Towoboase.
Osaray is grateful to his Executive Producer, Kwabena Sakyi of JAKX Records and Productions; a US based Records Company, as well as his wife, who helped him out through difficult situations.
Jackmor Promotion Syndicate and Maxitime Company Limited are assisting in the promotion of the album in Ghana.
