Gospel musician, Kofi San has won the Best Traditional Gospel Song Of the Year award with his “Which kind God” song at the National Gospel Music Awards ceremony held in Kumasi on Saturday 22nd December,2018.
The National Gospel Music Awards, is an award scheme that seeks to honour and appreciate gospel musicians who have released work(s) that have generated the most public excitement within the calendar year of the scheme.
Kofi San, who won the Traditional Gospel Song Of The Year award beat stiff competition from,Barima Kusi,Kwaw Mensah,CPL Adu Gyamfi ,Mcbrain and Gifty Osei who was adjudged the Gospel Artiste Of The Year.
Winning the Traditional Gospel Song Of The Year with his “Which Kind God” song wasn’t a fluke as Lance Corporal Francis Kofi Damenya aka, Kofi San of the 37 Military Hospital had worked extremely harder in the Year under review .
Other big winners include Fafa who won the Best Reggae video, Corporate Gospel with his popular song ‘Wonder God’.
New entrant, Rev Eddie Eyison picked three awards- Best Collaboration, Best Contemporary Gospel and Best Gospel Hip Hop with the “Our God”.
Pastor Kofy picked the Vibrant Male Artiste and Best Praise Song of the Year.
Surprisingly, Jack Alolome and Brother Sammy who won big at the maiden edition did not pick any awards at the 2nd edition.
The gospel trio of Daughters of Glorious Jesus were honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The National Gospel Music Awards scheme is a collaboration between the Royal Akofena Entertainment and The Multimedia Group Limited Kumasi branch.
